Fresh food, fair rules
Last updated: 8 September 2026
At Chitti Babu Biryani, every order is cooked fresh and packed the moment it is confirmed. Because of that, our cancellation and refund rules work the same way as a restaurant's: you can change your mind for a short window after ordering, but once the kitchen has started on your biryani, the order is final. This page explains exactly how it works and what we promise in return.
You may cancel any order within 10 minutes of the order confirmation time shown on your order receipt. Cancellations within this window receive a 100% refund of the amount paid, including delivery charges and taxes.
To cancel, call us on +91 96663 13134 and quote your order number. Phone is the only guaranteed way to cancel in time, as emails and form messages are not monitored live by the kitchen.
Ten minutes after confirmation, your order is released to the kitchen. Rice is put on, meat and vegetables are cooked, and the biryani is layered and sealed for you specifically. Once this has started, ingredients and labour have been committed and the food cannot be resold or reused. For this reason, orders cannot be cancelled after the window closes and no refund is issued for a customer-initiated cancellation at that stage.
This is the same principle followed by dine-in restaurants: once your dish is fired in the kitchen, it is yours.
Occasionally we may need to cancel an order ourselves, for example if an item sells out, your address is outside our delivery area, the kitchen is closed for an emergency, or severe weather makes delivery unsafe. If we cancel, you receive a full refund automatically and we will call or message you to let you know.
Beyond the cancellation window, we issue a full or partial refund in these situations:
| Situation | What we do |
|---|---|
| Order cancelled by us | Full refund |
| Order never delivered | Full refund |
| Item missing from the order | Refund for the missing item, or redelivery where possible |
| Wrong item delivered | Redelivery of the correct item, or refund for that item |
| Food arrives spilled, damaged or unsealed | Replacement or refund for the affected item |
| Genuine quality concern (undercooked, foreign object, spoiled) | Full refund for the affected item after review |
| Duplicate payment or payment failure where money was debited | Full refund of the extra charge |
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. The money leaves our account within 2 business days of approval. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it typically appears in your account within 5 to 7 business days. UPI refunds are usually faster. We do not issue cash refunds for online payments.
For cash-on-delivery orders that qualify for a refund, we will arrange a bank or UPI transfer to the details you provide.
A strict cancellation policy only works if the food is worth it. Here is what goes into every order so that a refund is rarely needed:
We do not batch-cook and hold biryani for hours. Your order goes on the stove after you confirm it, which is exactly why the 10-minute window exists.
Whole spices are sourced, roasted and ground in-house in small batches. No pre-mixed masala powders, no artificial colours or flavour enhancers.
Chicken, mutton and vegetables are purchased fresh each morning from trusted suppliers and never frozen for reuse across days.
FSSAI-compliant kitchen practices: gloves and hair covers, separate prep areas for veg and non-veg, sanitised surfaces and daily temperature logs.
Every container is heat-sealed before it leaves the kitchen so your biryani arrives untouched and hot. If a seal is broken on arrival, tell us and we will replace it.
Our recipes follow the slow dum method used in Telugu homes. If a plate ever falls short of that, we want to know, and we will put it right.

This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions and may be updated from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your order applies.
